The Open Air Motel
2009
Street asphalt, pillow, wood molding, house paint, foreclosure listings on glass, construction brick, cardboard box, gift bows painted in colors of changing leaves

Though the physical structure of each house we move into changes, home is a sense that is always carried with us. This piece brings together some of the contrasts of everyday life: the public street and the intimacy of private space, renovation and dilapidated building materials, new ownership in foreclosed houses. Cycles like these are the changes that challenge and inform identity and any sense of where home may lie.
